Vintage & Rare Art Deco 1928 Early Susie Cooper – “Cubist” Preserve Pot – No. 8071 – A E Gray & Co. Hanley England – 0000356

This superb and very collectable early Susie Cooper designed preserve pot is in absolutely excellent condition for its age. Dating from circa 1928 this lovely pot is hand-painted in the very sought after “Cubist” pattern and is totally free from any chips, cracks or restoration work. There is some age related crazing both inside and out, but is only stained slightly on the inside. The hand-painted pattern is in excellent condition with only minor flakes missing in a couple of places. Please see photos. I believe that this would once have had a lid, but preserve pots in this design are rare and even rarer with an intact lid. Measures approximately 7.5cm high by 8cm at widest point.

Clearly marked with the H2 Second Galleon mark and the words “A.E. Gray & Co. Hanley England”, the pattern number of 8071 (paintress mark underneath) and the “Grimwades” white ware underglaze stamp.

A very sought-after design in a rare form and in stunning condition. A must for the Art Deco Susie Cooper collector!

Vintage & Rare Art Deco 1933 Hand-Painted Clarice Cliff “Bizarre” Coral Firs Conical Coffee Cup – 0000361

This splendid Clarice Cliff “Bizarre” art deco conical cup is beautifully and skilfully hand-painted in the highly sought after “Coral Firs” pattern. Dating circa 1933 and a classic design made at the Newport potteries. The colours are bright and the hand-painted pattern is in excellent displayable condition with no chips or any restoration work. There is however, a very tight and internally stained, hairline crack from the rim down about an inch. Clearly marked underneath with all the important stamps. See photos. Measures approximately 9cm in width at the rim of the cup.

A lovely collectable art deco cup for the Clarice Cliff collector that is rare in this form (I can’t find another Coral Firs conical cup like it) and that would look perfect on display.

Art Deco Japanese “TIM” Alarm Clock – Circa 1923 – 0000075

This lovely Art Deco travel alarm clock is made in Japan circa 1923. It has both “Foreign” and “Japan” marks on the face, case and movement.

It has a beautiful deep blue and white face with characteristic art deco style hands. The case is a bit loose on its hinges and there is some oxidation damage to the silky case lining. The perspex face is very clear but has very minor scratches not really visible unless you look hard.

The movement ticks fine and the alarm works fine. A fabulous and practical collectable if you like collecting pieces from this period or love clocks and watches like me.

In the case, the clock measures 8 x 7.5 x 3 cm approximately.

Art Deco Style Geometric White Marble Desk Pen Stand, Inkwell and Blotter – 0000438

This gorgeous art deco style white marble pen stand and inkwell is a beautiful geometric design with square inkwells set on a rectangular base. This set includes the ink blotter, made from an aluminium material, which appears unused and still has one sheet of blotting paper on it, ready to blot away your quill spills.

Offered in very good condition for its age with a few small chips to the marble on the corners and a couple of edges. Please see photos. Looks fab overall!

This is a heavy item but beautifully made with lovely neat piano hinges on the inkwells, one of which has the words “Made in England” on it. Possibly dating from the Art Deco period, but possibly a later made item. I can not be 100% sure as it has no makers marks. Measures approximately 30.5cm wide by 7cm high (to top of the inkwells).

No free postage on this item due to the weight (just under 4kg unpacked). Sorry!

Vintage Art Deco 1950’s “Beswick” Hand-Painted Red and Gold Pinstriped Butter Dish – 0000501

For the butter lovers and retro pickers out there. This lovely retro butter dish is decorated and a typical timeless deco design with thin hand-painted delicate pinstripes red and gold as accenting.

In very good condition over all for its age with no cracks or restoration. The lid is excellent overall, although it does have some staining to the edges of the cover (where it meets the dish) and a couple of tiny nibbles to the edge. The dish, has some staining and there some marks. The gold edging is mostly worn on the dish and there is also a small chip to the underside of the dish. This does not affect the overall appearance of the butter dish. Still very lovely indeed.

The underside of the dish is fully marked with the incised words “Beswick” and the shape number 1432 dating this butter dish to between 1954 and 1971 – although the design is more likely 1950’s.

The dish measures approximately 18cm by 15cm and the height to the finial is approximately 10cm.

A lovely practical and collectable butter dish by Beswick.

Vintage Art Deco “Coalport – England – Kings Ware” – Hand-Painted Coffee Cans – 0000132

This vintage pair of art deco pottery “Coalport England – Kingsware” coffee cans are hand-made and hand-painted with a beautiful floral design on the outside and a small floral design on the inside. Around the rim and delicate handles is a fine gold edging.

Dating from around 1929, they are both free of chips, cracks or repair. There are some minor marks of ware and scuffs which could possibly be removed to the outside glazing.

Very small in size, possible a children’s set with one cup slightly taller (0.4mm approx) than the other. Measurements are 5cm high by 5cm wide approx.

A very collectable and pretty piece of art deco “Coalport”. Essential to any “Coalport” collection and they display beautifully!

Vintage 1920′s Agfa PD-16 ReadySet Bellows Camera – 0000112

This fabulous vintage 1920′s bellows camera is by the world known Agfa. This camera was made circa mid to late 1920′s and if you have seen my Agfa film tin above, you will see that this is similar if not the same as the one held by the lovely art deco lady. The camera has an elegant fold-out action and is made from metal, plastics with a leatherette finish. The camera is in good condition with some minor scratches and a tiny bit of oxidation in places. It is nearly 100 years old! All the switches and knobs click and turn. It may need a clean to start taking pictures again but it is very attractive and displayable collectable piece from a period close to my heart. Measuring 19cm x 16cm (when the camera is open).

This fabulous Maxwell Wood (Wood’s) coffee pot is circa 1960′s classic “Astra” design. With art deco influences with its geometric design, sixties colour and “Doctor Who” Dalek-like design.

Measuring approx 8.5 inches tall and in a deep green colour that is beautifully glazed and is in perfect vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.

Hand-signed underneath “Maxwell Wood”, “Wood’s England” this is a lovely vintage retro piece for the collector or for daily use by the coffee lover!
