This vintage Chad Valley “Across Africa with Livingstone” game is quite rare (in fact, I can’t seem to find much information about this game, except for a lovely person who contacted me from the USA to tell me that they played with this game in the 1930′s) dates from around the 1920′s to 1930′s. Also featured on the V & A website tagged under race, geographical, natural history and black history.
Complete with board (which has some pen marks and some of the rules hand-written), three out of four original wooden counters and a few extra counters added. The box is in great condition and has a fabulously exciting illustration of Livingstone being attacked by a lion with the “natives” approaching in the background! The box contains the all important rules, guide, spinning wheel and counters. The spinning wheel does have some damage to one of the pointers.
The box measures approximately 10.5cm x 10.5cm x 1.5cm. Board measures approximately 41cm by 41cm.
A very nice piece of early Chad Valley gaming, ideal if you love old games and history (and the fantastic illustrations on early games!).
