Vintage 1960’s West German Goebel – Marmalade or Preserve Pot – 0000502

This lovely collectable orange shaped marmalade pot was made circa 1967 by Goebel Hummel in West Germany.  Goebel wares are very collectable and renowned for their high quality figures and figurines.

This unusual and very collectable piece is in the form of a orange and can be used for marmalade or any preserve.  Marked on the underside with the three line Goebel mark for 1967.

The condition overall is very good with a totally undamaged lid (usually badly damaged, lost or broken) and good pot with no chip but upon very close inspection there is the finest hairline from the rim that is not very noticeable.   Please see pictures – the photo of the hairline is very close up.

Measures a sweet 8cm high and is a very nice display piece for the Goebel collector.

  • Vintage 1930′s German Hand-Painted “Smiling Boy” Egg Cup – 0000133

Vintage 1930′s German Hand-Painted “Smiling Boy” Egg Cup – 0000133

This vintage porcelain “Smiling Boy” egg cup was very likely made in Germany in or around the 1930′s.  Similar in design to an egg cup made by Goebel around the same period.

This very collectable egg cup (featured in Miller’s Collectables 2009) is free of cracks or repair but has the tiniest chip on the inner rim (not obvious and appears to be old).  Although there is some minor ware to the hand-painted features, the egg cup retains its charm and character.  Marked 321 on the base.

A very desirable, rare and collectable vintage egg cup.

  • Vintage Italian or Dresden (Germany) Capodimonte Porcelain Orchid– 0000462

Vintage Italian or Dresden (Germany) Capodimonte Porcelain Orchid– 0000462

ust gorgeous….this lovely life-sized porcelain modelled orchid is beautifully life-like in its moulding and is made for a delicate translucent porcelain. Skilfully hand-painted, this piece is backstamped with the Crown over a capital “N”, which is the backstamp for Capodimonte (Capo-di-monte) Italy or Dresden, Germany: The Crown and N mark was used by a number of factories from Germany to Japan.

The detailed paint work and life-like modelling is exquisite and but for a couple of small chips – one to a petal and possibly a stamen (which you would never notice – normally pieces like this are badly damaged), this delicate flower is near perfect.

This gorgeous piece measures 14cm from the top of the petal to the bottom of the stem and 12cm wide.

    A beautiful displayable collectors piece.

  • Vintage 1920’s -1930’s Hand-Painted Porcelain German “Singing Boy” Eggcup – 0000521

    Vintage 1920’s -1930’s Hand-Painted Porcelain German “Singing Boy” Eggcup – 0000521

This fabulous German made hand-painted “Singing Boy” eggcup was made circa the 1920’s or 1930’s.  Made from a translucent porcelain and decorated in a colourful glaze.

Very similar to an eggcup design by the German designer Goebel, this eggcup represents a boy or man singing.  A very distinct design with great features in the moulding and hand-painted colouring, sticking out ears, bowtie and round 1920’s glasses.

With no markings on the underside, this very collectable and rare eggcup is free from any chips or restoration, but does have three (3) old hairline cracks at the back of the head (Please see photos).  More visible from the inside, this damage does not affect the overall look of the eggcup and it displays beautifully.

  • Vintage Art Deco 1920’s-1940’s Sterling Silver on Porcelain (Foreign) “Lightning Bolt” Handled Cup and Saucer Trio – 0000511

Vintage Art Deco 1920’s-1940’s Sterling Silver on Porcelain (Foreign) “Lightning Bolt” Handled Cup and Saucer Trio – 0000511

This gorgeous and typically Art Deco trio consists of a cup, saucer and side plate.  Made in Germany circa the 1920’s to 1940’s from a lovely light, delicate and translucent porcelain, this trio is decorated in Sterling Silver and a lovely burnt orange backed floral design.  The gorgeous “lightning bolt” stylised handle is very much of the period and looks lovely on display.

The condition of the cup and side plate is excellent, both being free from any chips, cracks or restoration.  The saucer has been repaired with rivets, which is a typically traditional way of china repair in the early 20th century.  All three pieces do have some wear to the silver with only some fading to the silver in parts, mainly affecting the edges and mostly on the saucer.  The cup measures approximately 7.5cm in diameter and the largest plate is approximately 17.5cm in diameter.

Overall a lovely trio to add to any Art Deco collection.
