If you missed these the first time round, this is your opportunity to get this set of two lovely Lurpak eggcups. This pair is a limited edition promotional set, made by Wade Ceramics, and featuring Douglas the Butterman, the legendary character from Lurpak’s UK TV commercials. Douglas became a collector’s item for British families who queued up to buy egg-cups carrying Douglas’ image. Within three weeks in September of 2002, 250,000 packs with Douglas ceramic eggcups were snapped up!
This set of two eggcups is of Douglas the Butter Man carrying the 'egg cup' whilst lying down on his back and holding the eggcup whilst sat down. The word Lurpak is transfer printed on to the cup part of the eggcups and they are both in excellent “as new” condition with no, chips, cracks or restoration. Please see the photos.
The added bonus with this set is that you get the original packaging, which is unsealed, as these sets originally came with a pat of butter.
A great addition to any eggcup collection!
