  • Art Deco 1930′s / 1940′s Vaseline / Uranium / Depression Glass Lidded Trinket Dish – 0000400

    Art Deco 1930′s / 1940′s Vaseline / Uranium / Depression Glass Lidded Trinket Dish – 0000400

This cute little art deco green glass lidded dish is made from Uranium glass, which is also known as Vaseline or Depression glass as it was mainly made during the periods of the first and second World War.  Most likely part of a dressing table set, this dish is gorgeous as a standalone piece and when kept by a sunny window will glow bright green from the ultraviolet rays of the sun.  Always a talking point, mainly because people can not believe that its made with uranium.  Not harmful at all.  Marked “Made in England”

In good condition with no major damage.  Would be perfect but for a couple of nibbles to the rim, only visible if you lift the lid and are looking for them.  Please see photos.  Measures a sweet 9cm high (to top of finial) by 8.5cm at widest points.

A very attractive and practical piece for the art deco and uranium or depression glass collector.

  • Vintage 1930′s -1950′s Ceramic Climbing Kitten – Marked “Foreign” – 0000111

    Vintage 1930′s -1950′s Ceramic Climbing Kitten – Marked “Foreign” – 0000111

If your a cat lover you will love this!  This vintage possibly European, but marked “Foreign” dates possibly between the 1930′s and 1950′s and is made from earthenware, but I am not sure if its porcelain or not.  It is very similar to a Beswick model of a climbing kitten.

This cute Siamese kitten comes with the glass tumbler, which I think came originally with the kitten:  She fits perfectly on it and is weighted so that the kitten doesn’t pull the glass over easily!

She measures 17cm approximately from tip to tail and is in good condition but for some minor repair to the tail at some time in its life. The tumbler measures 17cm x 11cm approximately and has a tiny chip on the inner rim (not really visible).

A cute vintage ceramic for the cat lover!

  • Rare Art Deco Pressed Vaseline Glass/Depression Glass/Uranium Glass Salad Servers – 0000467

Rare Art Deco Pressed Vaseline Glass/Depression Glass/Uranium Glass Salad Servers – 0000467

Made circa the 1920′s, these fabulous green pressed glass salad servers are very scarce and very collectable. Often referred to as vaseline glass, depression glass (as it was mainly made during the great depression on the 1920′s) or uranium glass, as the glass was made using uranium oxide which is a radioactive substance. Harmless to humans as the levels of radiation are negligible and is less than what would be found in the natural environment.

Certainly a talking piece, especially when held in sunlight or under ultraviolet let, as the glow bright green!

The servers measure approximately 20.5cm to 21.5cm each (the spoon is slightly larger than the fork) and are in excellent condition for their age (and material) with no major damage or breaks, just light surface scratches and a tiny nibble of the ridge of the edge of the spoon (where the pressed glass seams are).

A nice rare and very collectable addition to any depression or uranium glass collection! Wow your friends!
