  • Vintage 1950′s Tri-ang 400 Sit ‘n’ Ride Tin-Plate Long Distance Transport Lorry – 0000153

    Vintage 1950′s Tri-ang 400 Sit ‘n’ Ride Tin-Plate Long Distance Transport Lorry – 0000153

This fabulous vintage 1950′s Tri-ang (Lines Bros Group) 400 Sit ‘n’ Ride lorry is a rare and great piece of toy history and nostalgia.

The lorry is made from tin-plate with opening rear doors, realistic rubber tyres and working steering!  The lorry is in very condition with some scratches, a tiny bit of rust and paint-loss in parts (and a ding on the roof wear it has been sat on which pops in and out).  There is also some string holding the cab and truck but I’m not sure how much this is holding it together – it seems very solid. From research the only bits that seem missing is a silver roof box which sits on the cab roof and the original lock for the rear (replaced with a piece of vintage Meccano!).  Measures a whopping 60cm x 20cm x 25cm approx.

As Tri-ang described their toys:  they “Last Longer”.  So very true!

  • Vintage Schylling Tin-Plate Friction Operated “Robot – Space Trooper”

Vintage Schylling Tin-Plate Friction Operated “Robot – Space Trooper”

A great collectable for the retro tin-plate toy collector.  Looking very much like “Robby” the robot from the 1956 sci-fi classic “Forbidden Planet”, this is a collectors reproduction made circa the 1990′s and unlike the original, this is a friction operated robot, so you just wind the handle and put him down.  Made in China, he measures approximately 16.5cm tall and about 9cm at the widest points. This robot comes with the original box (slightly faded) and is in excellent condition with very minor paint loss in a couple of places but hardly noticeable.

A super space trooper for the adult vintage toy collector!

  • Vintage 1960′s Tin-Plate Burbank Toy’s (Mattel) Clown “Jack in the Music Box” – 0000420

Vintage 1960′s Tin-Plate Burbank Toy’s (Mattel) Clown “Jack in the Music Box” – 0000420

This vintage “Jack in the Music Box” was made by Mattel for “Burbank Toy’s” circa 1968.  Made from tin-plate with bright colours and a very retro (some might say scary)  looking clown.  This box is in good condition with age and play wear.  The clown is still attached to the spring but the fabric has come away from the box.  It does play a tune occasionally but more not than often.  On testing now, its not.

A nice retro toy for the nostalgic collector and does look very nice on display.  Maybe in a child room?

  • Vintage 1970’s-1980’s Litho Tin-plate Clockwork Motorbike and Sidecar (MS-709) by QSH Toys – 0000505

Vintage 1970’s-1980’s Litho Tin-plate Clockwork Motorbike and Sidecar (MS-709) by QSH Toys – 0000505

This super cool retro tin-plate motorbike and side-car is a fab displayable collectable.  Made by QSH Toys in China circa the late 1970’s to the early 1980’s.

Nice lithograph colours and a cool Harley Davidson style motorbike with retro bullet shaped side-car.  The passenger is made of a coloured soft rubber.

This cool bike and side-car measures approximately 18cm long by 12cm wide by 12cm high.

Overall, this toy is in very good condition for its age, with minimal use.  The clockwork mechanism works fine although the bike veers off to the left when running (this is due to the off-centre front wheel – which is part of the factory design, although it may look bent).  There is some wear to the paint but overall is very bright in appearance.

A nice retro collectable tin-plate toy.
