Serve your Sunday morning (or every morning) breakfast in bed toast, in style with this elegant silver-plated four slice “Rack-on-Bun” footed toast rack! Now that was a mouthful!
Made circa the 1920’s to the 1940’s this Art Deco period toast rack is well made and plated in good quality silver. Marked “Viceroy Plate” “Made in England” underneath, this was made by The Viceroy Silver Company (officially registered as the National Silver Company) that was an American company that operated between 1890 and 1950. Viceroy (or National Silver), which also had manufacturing facilities in the UK, were well known for their excellent quality silver-plated flatware. Now that the company no longer exists, their wares are becoming rare and very desirable to collectors.
With minimal visible wear, this toast rack is in excellent condition with virtually no wear to the plating and some fine surface scratches. I have given it a good clean and the tarnish has exposed a very beautiful and bright silver shine.
Measuring approximately 12cm long by 13cm high, this is a lovely piece to add to any vintage silver collection or perfect for everyday (or special day) use. With this, you can have your toast and eat it in style!
