I love interesting pieces of vintage kitchenalia! Especially original and vey collectables pieces like this! If you love kitchenalia or Art Deco period Japanese pottery, this is a great piece to add to your collection!
Made circa the 1930’s to possibly the 1950’s, this gorgeous handmade and hand-painted preserve pot is stunning! In the form of a beef tomato and with fabulous detail, this is certainly a well-made and high quality piece made by the highly collectable Japanese makers, Marutomo Ware.
In very good to excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration work. It does however, have some stained age related crazing to the inside of the pot and on the base on the outside, but nothing that affects its presentability. It’s a gorgeous piece and quite rare, especially in this condition.
This lovely preserve pot measures approximately 9cm high (to the top of the flower finial) and 11cm wide (at its widest points – leaf edge to leaf edge), and would make a great addition to any vintage or Art Deco kitchenalia or Japanese Marutomo Ware collection!
