This is a lovely trio that is perfect for the Art Deco Myott collector.
A gorgeous and typically Art Deco design and colour way, from Myott, Sons and Co’s most sought after and collected period of designs and wares. Although hand-painted to a particular design pattern, each piece is unique, with slight differences in pattern and style.
Bearing the Myott gold stamp on the underside of each piece, places this pattern between 1930 and 1942, the most sought after and collectable period. The hand painted floral and foliage design is gorgeously stylised in autumnal black, orange and yellow, with a semi-circular “sunrise” design around the outer part of the pattern. A lovely and warm colour way.
This set consists of three pieces; a 16cm plate, a 14cm dish and a 10cm bowl. I am not sure if this trio is meant to wed together, but were acquired in this way and they do look stunning together on display.
The condition of this set is excellent to near mint; each piece is free from any chips, cracks or restoration. The hand-painted pattern is bright and undamaged on the bowl and 14cm dish and there is a fleck of paint missing on the black foliage on the 16cm plate, although this looks like a factory “smudge” flaw. The set appears to be unused with the most minor surface scratches to the honeyglaze. Nothing noticeable at all.
All in all, this is a gorgeous and very collectable piece of Art Deco Myott pottery and would look perfect on display in any vintage pottery collection!
