Watched it on ITV in the 80’s? Here’s the autographed book! I remember getting up early on a Saturday morning in the 1980’s as a pre-teenager to watch Tiswas and every other morning kids show because they were filled with amazingly funny and inspirational characters. It was great to see who would get a custard pie in the face that day.
Number 73 was a show where a few of today’s celebrities debuted. The hilarious Sandy Toksvic started out on there; Nick Staverson (Harry) and Neil Buchanan all began their careers on this show. It was the first kids TV show where the presenters played a character as opposed to themselves. Neil Buchanan went on to win several BAFTA’s for “Art Attack” which was a brilliant children’s art TV programme and is still active now as brilliant artist with a series of recent limited edition shows and pieces entitled “Hope Street” and “Back Street Games” (www.neilbuchanan.co.uk).
Here we have a rare autographed “No.73” Annual from 1987. Signed by “Harry” (Nick Staverson) and Neil Buchanan. The annual is in very good condition with only minor bumping on the corners and the connect the dots game filled in. Otherwise and very clean copy. Published by Boxtree Ltd in 1987.
If you loved No.73 (like I did) and Art Attack and have seen Neil Buchanan’s recent works (which are not cheap for the average collector), you will want to add this to your collection.
A nice collectors item!
